We have received a great response for the community's Golf / BBQ event on Saturday, March 13th. To date, 40 residents and guests have signed up for golf and over 70 for the BBQ.
To answer a few questions:
1. In order to finalize the golfing event, please sign up by Friday, March 5th, if you have not already done so and wish to play. We can be a little more flexible with the BBQ, but request that you sign up by Wednesday, March 10th. The sign up sheets, with the appropriate information, are on the bulletin boards by the pools.
2. Kathy Nederveld and Rich Blazed have volunteered to do the golf pairings. If you wish to be paired with certain residents, please contact Kathy ( 947-7059) or Rich ( 495-1270) and they will accommodate your request.
3. We recommended a scramble to keep it a fun event. If your foursome wants to play another game, feel free to do so.
4. All golfers can pay for the golf at the Pro Shop prior to playing that Saturday. Members can have their accounts charged and non members can pay by credit card. With regard to the BBQ, we will be setting up a payment box in the Ivory Cane Library Room by the pool. The checks should be made out to Pelican Nest. ( $17.50 / per person)
5. We will be sending out another e-mail next week to those attending, with more specific information. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail (pjpvista@aol.com) or phone ( 498-5148) me.
Look forward to a fun time.
Paul

Comcast Update as of 7pm Feb. 1
|
|
Dear Judy, This morning we called Comcast and spoke to the Pelican Landing Account Manager, Mr. Roberto Lewis, regarding the new digital box issue. He provided us with the following information: 1. The signal currently transmitted by Comcast is referred to as “analog”. It is not necessary to do anything at this time if you wish to continue the same service that you have been using. 2. It is not necessary to have a box to convert from “analog” to “digital” in order to receive the same basic channels that you have been receiving. 3. Mr. Lewis states that it will be necessary to have a cable box sometime in the future which he feels will be sometime this year. 4. A box is required to have digital reception in your home regardless of how new your TV is and whether it is advertised to be “Digital”. 5. A separate box is required for each TV in your home. 6. The first box is provided at no charge and no monthly fee for the first year if you take advantage of the Pelican Landing offer. 7. There is a $10.00 installation charge to install the first box. 8. There is no charge for each subsequent box but there is a $5.00 monthly rental fee for each box. 9. At this time you can have your main TV operate with a conversion box and have additional TV’s operate without one. 10. The new box will increase the number of channels from about 80 to 140. 11. You can designate someone such as your home watch person to act in your behalf to make arrangements to get your new box(s). You must send an e-mail to Mr. Lewis at lewisroberto@comcast.net with your name, address, and social security number and the name of the person you are designating to act in your behalf. Mr. Lewis did not know the answers to the following questions: 1. Is there an additional installation charge for additional boxes if installed at the same time as the free one? 2. Is it necessary that you or your representative personally appear at the Community Center this week to sign up for the new boxes? 3. Can you sign up by phone, fax or e-mail? 4. Do you pick up the box at the time you sign up or will the installer bring it with him when he comes to install? Mr. Lewis was planning to get the answers to the above questions at a meeting this morning and was to call us back with the answers after the meeting. We did not hear from him as of yet. We will be happy to help anyone with this if we can. We suggest that if you have any further question, you contact Mr. Lewis directly. If you would like us to act in your behalf, please make arrangements directly with Comcast via e-mail, phone, or fax and after everything is in place, send us an e-mail with explicit instructions as to what you would like us to do and we will do our best. Hope this helps. Jim & Cheryl
